The Triumph of the Common Man
Our season finale is built around the theme 'The Triumph of the Common Man.' The evening will feature Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. The capstone of the evening will be Beethoven's powerful Ninth Symphony, performed by the orchestra, four soloists and the Mendelssohn Choir of Connecticut.

NSO Reaches Out
|

Diane Wittry and the Norwalk Symphony are on a mission: Together they're taking the community by storm - reaching out to young and old alike in an effort to bring the joy of music to everyone. The programming of greater variety in the orchestra's regular concerts is only the first step in spreading the message of the power of music. Maestro Wittry's calendar is peppered with personal appearances designed to strengthen the bond between the orchestra and the entire region. Along with chamber groups like The Norwalk Trio and other all-NSO ensembles, The NSO is actively reaching out beyond the confines of the concert hall, beyond the City of Norwalk, and into the hearts and minds of everyone who will listen!
A personal message from Diane'Wittry...

"When you connect with music that seems to speak to you...the music and who we really are seem to be congruent; we fit together as part of a force greater than ourselves."
