The celebrated pianist Gary Graffman has been a major figure in the music world since winning the prestigious Leventritt Award in 1949. For the next three decades he toured almost continuously, playing the most demanding works in the piano literature both in recital and with the world's great orchestras. Performing the Ravel Concerto for Left Hand, he will amaze you with his brilliant technique with just one hand!

Norwalk Symphony joins Orchestras Feeding America in local food drive March 23 to 28
 

The public is invited to join Norwalk Symphony’s musicians, staff, and volunteers in a food drive to collect non-perishable food between Monday, March 23 and Saturday, March 28 to benefit Norwalk’s Emergency Shelter and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.  The  Norwalk Symphony Orchestra as it joins over 200 other orchestras in 45 states to collect food in drives that will benefit food banks in each locale. Norwalk Symphony is the only performing arts organization in Fairfield County participating in Orchestras Feeding America, the first national food drive by America’s symphony orchestras.

Foods like dry soup, rice, cereal, peanut butter, tuna, stew, soup, pasta, cereal and fruit juice are the most needed foods.  Drop off locations include:

Norwalk Symphony’s Office at One Park Street – 10 am to 2 pm March 23-27

Norwalk Concert Hall in City Hall – 6-8 pm March 28

New Canaan Dance Academy at 45 Grove Street, New Canaan  

The Hour Newspapers’ Community Room at 346 Main Avenue – Daily with a final drop off from 9 am to 4 pm on March 28

Whole Food Market at 399 Post Road, Westport; and

Norwalk City Hall at 125 East Avenue – 6 to 8 pm March 28
